On March 13th, a week before the government imposed quarantine, Australia’s music venues and nightclubs shut their doors when non-essential gatherings of 500 people were banned in an effort to prevent the spread of the Coronavirus. As a result, thousands of nighttime industry employees are currently unemployed and the entire Australian electronic music scene faces an existential crisis.

In a unified effort to save our cultural and creative industry, we have decided to join forces and stand together in solidarity with our friends. While many industries commence reopening, the harsh reality is that it will be some time before our club nights, parties and electronic music events are able to operate fully. Now more than ever, we need your helping hand! Please enjoy the streams, donate and help Australia’s electronic music culture survive on the other side of the pandemic!

Unity in the Community!

Launching on Thursday, June 11th, United We Stream Australia is launching a national series of live-streamed electronic music events from different artists, venues, clubs and collectives from around the country. Highlighting the diversity of electronic music culture in Australia, United We Stream Australia will host a variety of genres and styles of electronic music, performed by a wide range of artists at our nation’s most loved venues, clubs and locations. United We Stream Australia is ‘powered by’ Electronic Music Conference (EMC) and Sounds Australia.

As a global charity project “United We Stream” has a crucial commitment in saving and keeping club culture. Alongside with other cities, Australia is fully committed to rebuilding the existence and functionality of local artists, locations and related employees. In order to prevent irreparable consequences, it is important to draw attention to creative industries that have been particularly affected.

Donations raised from United We Stream Australia will raise funds for Support Act, as well as generating a donations pool which will be split between participating artists, venues, clubs and promoter collectives.

Artists, collectives, clubs, promoters and venues are invited to be a part of this national series of events. To submit an expression of interest, please click here.
